Guitar Tabs for 25 Classic Folk Songs

date: 3/8/01

For most folk songs, all you need are the chords. But what would "Diamonds and Rust" be without that Em slide? Or "Both Sides Now" without the right open tuning? Or "You've Got A Friend" without James Taylor's patented licks? For some songs, there are arrangements that are burned into our subconscious and it's just not the same without that hammer-on, voicing or rhythmic figure. So, here are 25 great songs/arrangements that I've been able to track down - everything from "Greensleeves" to Ani DiFranco and Dar Williams.

Enjoy. And feel free to send URLs for more - I'd like to expand this page to 100 songs.

Yours,

Hugh Blumenfeld
